History of IWD
It was during 1908 that there was a continuing critical discussion among women about their discrimination and inequality. The transformation campaign began to be more outspoken as 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding reduced hours, fair wages, and voting rights. The first Women’s Day was celebrated in the United States in 1909. The International Assembly of Working Women was held in Copenhagen in 1910. That is where the proposal was put out by Clara Zetkin, the head of the Social Democratic Party Women’s Office in Germany. International Women’s Day was first celebrated in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland in 1911. Between 1913 and 1914, women celebrated their first Women’s Day in Russia on 23 February. Later, it was determined that the 8th of March will be a globally accepted day to celebrate IWD. The United Nations celebrated International Women’s Day for the first time in 1975.

Capturing Women’s space in leadership
International Women’s Day is a day celebrated to recognize and inspire all women around the world from any industry, whether it is business, clothing, technology, sports, or politics to assert leadership and decision-making power. The analysis shows that only a few women are classed as CEOs in their companies because women are less likely to become entrepreneurs due to various types of sexism against women, and examples of progression include sexual harassment, gender pay gaps, and lack of favorable policies for women in the workplace. According to the Covid-19 pandemic, the results of the situation reveal that women and girls are working to provide healthcare services that risk their lives to solve the situation by engaging themselves in detail and that they have become front-line staff in crisis relief, yet again because of gender inequality, women are prevented from becoming major innovators.
